Exploring Regent Seven Seas Grandeur

Cruise Circle

Our Ryan recently spent the day on the luxurious Regent Seven Seas Grandeur, let's dive in and see what he thought...

First Impressions

Exactly as I was hoping for = wow. Once on the ship we headed to one of the lounges, taking in the grand atrium on our way, one of the most impressive I’ve seen. Elsewhere, the colour scheme of calming neutrals (greys, creams and browns) with pops of sparkle felt super-sophisticated, and the welcoming, plush soft furnishings were hard to resist sinking into.

Sampling the spacious suites

We were able to see the Grandeur, Penthouse and Concierge suites, all individually impressive. Surprisingly, the smaller Concierge Suite felt like it had more space than the Penthouse, since it had a retractable curtain separating living and sleeping (instead of a solid wall). The Grandeur suite was enormous, with 1 ½ bathrooms and a large living area with a table and a sofa.

Intimate entertainment venues

With fewer guests onboard, this allowed Regent to create smaller and more intimate venues onboard Seven Seas Grandeur, which have a nice feel, both visually and when relaxing into the plush upholstery. The theatre had more of a show lounge atmosphere to it, with both seating and tables on the lower floor (plus further seating on the balcony.

Wellness facilities

The ship had a great gym space, with fitness classes, and all the equipment you'd expect for a good workout. There's also a spa, featuring a cold room, sauna, treatment rooms and a small pool with a decked area.

Delightful dining

We were lucky enough to enjoy a 3-course meal onboard, with lobster to start, steak for main, followed by a chocolate tarte and macarons. The food was beautiful, and the service was faultless - I particularly noticed the higher level of service, with the plates being delivered and taken away from different sides. Staff are very attentive to your glass, never letting it be empty.

Final thoughts...

I was surprised by the calm and spaciousness onboard. Nowhere felt like it would be crowded. I was also surprised by the 'buffet' presenting itself as more of a fine dining experience! The pool space was also charming - a large pool for a ship of this size, and plenty of sun loungers with very thick cushions, covers, towels and blankets.
