Why cruise with Virgin Voyages?
Cruise Circle
Virgin Voyages are still relatively new kids on the block, officially launching their first Lady ship in 2021. Since then, they’ve earned a reputation for doing things a bit differently. So, what sets them apart? Our team share their thoughts below...
Kid-free cruising
One of their most popular features = all Virgin Voyages sailings are exclusively for adults. With no compromises they're 100% focused on adult tastes.
Linda says:
“I love the kid-free element (and it’s not because I don’t like kids). It creates such a different atmosphere and provides space! The amount of room children’s facilities take up on ships, like special pools, slides, kids clubs… none of that applies on Virgin Voyages. So there's more communal space and the ships never feel crowded".
Always-included value
Virgin Voyages' fares are packed with value (over $1000 worth), covering (most of) your onboard needs, including access to premium dining at over 20+ eateries, group fitness classes, Wi-Fi, tips, entertainment, and a soft drinks package.
Shell says:
“I’ve holidayed with Virgin Voyages twice now and the best thing for me is that they don’t do drinks packages, but they do include all soft drinks. On more traditional cruises people sharing a cabin have to both take a drinks package (even if only one of you wants to use it). Because my other half doesn’t drink, his cruise experience with Virgin is basically all-inclusive.'
A special shout-out for the food
There's no pre-set meal times with Virgin Voyages. From classic American dishes to more experimental cuisine, spicy Mexican to Korean BBQ, all of their speciality restaurants are included in your cruise fare, with 20+ unique eateries to choose between.
Linda says:
“I love their food, it's such great quality! The Galley has multiple cuisines to try and there's no main dining, pre-designated eating times or dress codes. The restaurants are all of a high standard and the late night pizza is great for a post-Scarlet Night pick-me-up”.
Shell says:
“We ate like kings for the whole week and tried a different restaurant every evening."
Beccy says:
“The food is incredible. I loved the social aspect of The Test Kitchen and Gumbae, and the steaks in The Wake were to die for! If you’re dining in Razzle Dazzle, ask what’s on the ‘Secret Menu’ – you might get a nice little surprise.”
And the award goes to...
Fresh off the back of of being named Travel + Leisure® World’s Best #1 Mega Ship for the third year in a row, Virgin Voyages have managed to rack up an incredible number of awards and accolades in the 4 years since they first hit the water, including best for: entertainment, dining, LGBTQ+ Travellers, value-for-money & more.
Freedom & that holiday feeling
Linda says:
“The freedom that Virgin allows its guests is my favourite thing by far. You decide what to do and when, just book it all on their app. No fixed dining. Casual, come as you are, no dressing up if you’re not up for it. There's no pressure, and despite their party reputation, I found it was very easy not to take part in the more lively activities and still have plenty to do. Virgin Voyages surpassed my (already high) expectations in every way possible".
